THOMAS, Miriam Elizabeth of Greenwood went to be with her beloved Murray on December 11, 2011. Born January 15, 1933 to the late Edward and Ruth (Buckman) Pugh of Brier Island. Miriam went on to graduate from the nursing program at the Children's Hospital, Halifax. Marrying Murray within days of graduation meant a move to Torbay, St. John's, NFLD. The following years brought the birth of their three children and moves to Ottawa, Val'dor and finally Greenwood. Miriam worked for Elections Canada and managed the Mall Shop at Canex Mall in Greenwood until her retirement. Miriam loved to travel, read and bowl. Miriam is survived by sons, Edward, Kingston; David (Denise), Cambridge, ON; daughter, Martha (Watson) Armstrong, Kingston; her much loved grandchildren, Patrick (Dawn), Allison, Kelly, Claire, Stephanie and Grace; sister, Evelyn, Yarmouth; brothers, Lester, Yarmouth and Keith, Kingston. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Murray C. Thomas; brothers, Clayton and Sidney. There will be no visitation by request. The funeral service will be held 2:00PM, Saturday, December 17, 2011 in the Kingston Baptist Church, with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Private family interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery. By request, family flowers only.
