Obituary

Barkhouse, Morley Robie of Wilmot formerly of Mt. Hanley January 9 1937 – May 11 2021. Born in Upper Cornwall, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Harry and Cyrilla (Robar) Barkhouse. Morley was a hardworking man all of his life, working many different jobs from tobacco picking, working in a meat butchering plant and working in a Nickle Mine in Ontario, to carpentry, and working for the Department of Highways in Nova Scotia. He loved tinkering with his tractors and gardening and he definitely was no stranger to the odd drink or two, and if you asked, he would give you the shirt off of his back. Family meant the world to Morley, and he was dearly loved by his daughters, Diana (Kevin Rice), Brickton and Karen (Royal Strong), Coldbrook and his grandchildren, Desiree, Kaitlynn, Jason and Emily, brothers, Joseph (Mount Hanley) and Winston (Middleton) and so many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant son, his wife, Elsie, his brother, Milton, sister Iris Barkhouse; sisters-in-laws, Marjorie and Joan Barkhouse. Morley's family would like to sincerely thank Tibbetts for the excellent care they have given our Dad for the past years he has been a resident there. We would like to thank EHS, for the wonderful job they did transporting Dad. Thank you to Valley Regional Hospital Doctors and nursing staff in Kentville for caring for our Dad. And thank you Soldier's Memorial Hospital palliative care unit for making our Dad's lasts days as comfortable and pain-free as possible. All these people had a hand in caring for our Dad and we thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. In keeping with Morley's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Port George. Rev. Leon Langille officiating.
