Obituary

Chipman, Muriel Kingsbury (Roop) passed away at 94 years of age on Sunday, November 18th, 2012 at the Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, NS. She was born on August 6, 1918 in Middleton, NS. Muriel was predeceased by her husband George Frederick Chipman, parents Frederick Harding and Mary Roop, brothers Paul and Warren Roop and sister, Carolyn Pettit. She is survived by her five children Jeff Chipman (Dawn) of Niagara On The Lake, ON; Joan MacGregor (Don) and Anne Forsyth (Chris) of Calgary; Lyn Savage (Geoff) of Salt Spring Island, BC; and Liz Nelson (Phil Doyle) of Burlington, ON. Muriel is also survived by her eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr. David MacKinnon, Dean, David and staff of Middleton Manor as well as staff from both Soldiers Memorial Hospital and Valley Regional Hospital for their wonderful care given to Muriel. Memories of Muriel's vibrant spirit will be treasured by all who knew and loved her. Sunshine passes, shadows fall, love's remembrance outlasts all. Family and friends are invited to join Muriel's children for a visitation at the Middleton Funeral Home between 3:00 and 5:00 pm on Friday, November 30th. A private funeral will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Middleton. Donations in Muriel's name are welcomed and can be made to Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton, Nova Scotia or to a charity of choice.
