Obituary

BANKS, Murray Edmond ~ age 85 of Nictaux, NS formerly of Inglisville, NS passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville surrounded by his family. Born in Mount Hanley, he was a son of the late Donald and Lillian (Ernst) Banks and spent his childhood growing up in Port George.

Murray worked for Harold Dexter cutting pulpwood. He was employed with VJ Rice Concrete, Bridgetown for 30 years. Murray enjoyed wood carvings. His greatest delight was his granddaughter and great grandchildren. Murray will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Murray Jr (Lisa) Banks, Brickton; sister, Flora Parrish, Greenwood; granddaughter, Katherine (Matthew) Bryson, Belfast, PEI; great grandchildren, Henry William Bryson and Sibyl Elizabeth Victoria Bryson and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Anna Mae; daughter, Janet; sisters, Mary, Joyce and Sylvia. Graveside service will be held 2:00PM Friday, June 13, 2025 in Hillside Cemetery Port George with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Donations in Murray's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

The family would like to thank his family doctors, Dr. Grant Goodine and Dr. Amanda Smith, as well as the VON staff and VRH doctors and staff, especially Rose, Katherine, and Crissy, his special friends from the VON.
