BENT, Murray Arnold – age 88 of Phinney Cove, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 06, 2019 surrounded by love, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Phinney Cove, Annapolis County, he was a son of the late Edmund and Lydia (Sarty) Bent. In early years Murray was employed at Allen's Furniture Store, Yarmouth, worked in the woods and drove log trucks. He then worked at United Elastics in Bridgetown followed by being employed driving a rock truck during the construction of the Annapolis River causeway. Later, he worked at Standard Paving and drove a school bus for the Vocational School in Middleton as well as the cadet bus for CFB Cornwallis in the summer months. Murray will be sadly missed by his wife of 67 years, Doris Bent. Besides his wife, he is survived by sons Joe (Marion), Phinney Cove; Doug, Middleton; Darrell (Sandy), Port Wade; Gordie and Mark, both of Phinney Cove; grandchildren, Tim (Amy) Bent, Phinney Cove; Shelley (Scott) Bent, Melvern Square; Bonny (Zach) Hubley, Kingston; David Hubley, Middleton; Douglas Bent, Middleton; Parker-Lee Bent, Sackville, NS; Zachariah (Stephanie) Bent, Edmonton, AB; Bailey-Jean Bent, Lawrencetown, Anna Co.; Elijah Bent, Lawrencetown, Anna Co.; Paul (Kim) Bent, Bridgetown; Sally Bent, ON; Scott Last, ON; Natasha Last, Vancouver, BC;Amanda Last, Kentville; Garth Bent, Truro; and Jared Bent, Bridgetown; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews Murray was predeceased by sisters, Goldie, Alberta, Alma and Della; brothers, Earl, Douglas and Gordie. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 9 th in the Hampton Cemetery with Rev. Herb Townsend officiating. By request, family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Full Gospel Tabernacle, in Lequille or a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., 902 825-3448.
