SLUSARCHUK, Murray Alexander - It is with deep sorrow that the family of Murray Alexander Slusarchuk, 78 of Nictaux Falls, N.S. formerly of Lansdowne, Ontario announces his passing on March 21, 2013 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton. Born in Windsor, Ontario he was the son of Murray M. Slusarchuk and Mary Holovenchuk. For much of his working life Murray was involved in the pharmaceutical industry in Toronto and later became a toll collector on the Thousand Island Bridge at the Port of Lansdowne, Ont. Murray was very much a family man and was involved with the Cubs and Boy Scouts of Canada. In 1985 he became a foster parent to many youngsters for a period of 25 years. He was the father of David Slusarchuk and Cassity Kingswell both of Barrie, Ontario and stepfather to Kelley Barney (Darrell), Nictaux, Nova Scotia; Kristi Webb (Trevor) Gananoque, ON; Jeffrey Marr (Jessy), Kingston, ON; Peter Wood, Toronto and Tim Slusarchuk, Brockville, Ont. Left to mourn are his beloved wife and best friend, of 30 years Linda; sisters Shirley (Roger) Mitchell, North Vancouver, B.C. and Beverly Unger, Columbia, South Carolina; nieces and his grandchildren Jocelyn Kingswell, Joshua Marr (Stacey), Justin Webb (Lisa), Erin and Sean Barney, Lily Ann Marr and great-grandchild, Noah Marr. Murray will be sadly missed by dear friends of 28 years, Cleo and Gerry Carey, Lansdowne, ON. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the compassionate Caregivers of the VON who visited Murray daily for the last three years to keep him comfortable. Also we would like to say thank you for the care from Dr. Eric Balser and the staff at Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on April 23, 2013 at 2:00PM in the Middleton Baptist Church, Middleton, Nova Scotia.
