LUTZ, Mylon Edward ~ Age 78, of Morristown, Kings Co., N.S., passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2026, in Valley Hospice, Kentville, with family members beside him. Born on May 19, 1948, in Berwick, he was a son of the late Walter A. and Muriel M. (Mahar) Lutz.
Dad was a long-time member of Morristown Community Club, playing 45’s and had worked on the hall with his carpenter skills when needed. He played darts for many years at both the Community Hall and the Sidetrack Beverage Room in Berwick. Mylon worked at Weavexx for 38 years in the shipping department. Dad had also worked on the farms of Stuart Nichols and Vaughn Nichols for many years, starting at the age of 12. He enjoyed hunting with his son, brother, sister and her husband. Mylon and Joan spent many days fishing together.
Dad always took care of his family and provided a good healthy life for his wife and children. He always had a great sense of humour, cracking a joke whenever his wittiness seen the opportunity. Mylon enjoyed woodworking and built many beautiful pieces for family and friends. Dad took pride in the home that he built for his wife and children, and the property that he and Joan worked very hard at to always look beautiful.
He loved four wheeling with his wife and friend Jimmy Amero, and whoever decided to tag along. Mylon enjoyed cutting and splitting wood to heat his own home that always got from Bobby Wilson. Dad was a very liked person in his home community of Morristown, where he was proud to have been raised and lived in all his life. Mylon enjoyed taking Joan out to Chinese restaurants for special occasions, made sure that they were always front row attending his kids, grandkids and great grandkids school and sport events.
Dad enjoyed great times that would include family camping trips, barbeques and Christmas time meals. He will be dearly missed by his wife, son, daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mylon always lent a helping hand to anyone when he could.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, the former Joan D. Bennett; daughter, Tammy Lutz (Greg Reynolds), New Minas; son, David (Veronica MacLeod) Lutz, Morristown; grandchildren, Renee, Brady, Izaac and Tycen; great grandchildren, Olivia and Mason; sister, Ferne (Willis) Silver, Morristown; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Walter Lutz Jr.
All are welcome to attend a time in celebration of Mylon’s life from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, in Morristown Community Hall, 20 Prospect Road, Morristown. Interment in Morristown Cemetery, with Pastor Stephen Njoroge officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
