Obituary

MARCIPONT (Tidman), Naureen Winnifred "Reen" – Age 89 of Kingston, NS passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Reen was born October 12, 1933, in Brooklyn, Queens Co., to the late Gilbert and Mantanna (Godfrey) Winters. She worked as a catalogue manager for Sears Canada for over 25 years. She was fortunate to have travelled far and wide and enjoyed it immensely. She spent winters in Florida and summers in Margaretsville, at her beloved cottage on the Bay. Reen was a member of the Kingston United Baptist Church, Kingston Lionettes and Paragon Golf & Country Club.  Reen could usually be found playing bridge with her friends, out to eat with the girls, working on a new puzzle or playing the piano. She was truly the happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends. Sports was also a part of her life.  Reen enjoyed cheering on her sons and in later years her grandchildren; she never missed their games and was their number one fan.  She will be forever missed. She is survived by daughter, Debbie (Robert) Feener, Bridgewater; sons, Paul Tidman (Kelly Venables), Kingston; Glenn (Susan) Tidman, Kingston; stepdaughters Janet Stubbart, Susan Henwood, Cathy (Robert) Seahaver; stepsons, Brian (Wendy) Marcipont, Kevin Marcipont (Megan Lewis); grandchildren, Lindsay (Jeff) Comeau, Nicole Tidman (Cal MacIsaac), Christie Tidman (Connor) Gravelle, Brett Tidman, Erin (Darren) Frelick, Jill Feener (Eric Michaud) and Anna Feener (Tim Gaudet); as well as five step grandchildren. She was also a proud great-grandmother to many. Besides her parents, Reen was predeceased by her first husband, Berkeley Tidman; second husband Hector Marcipont; sisters Claudia Giles, Danna Winters; brothers Dale, Donnie, Gilbert and Barry. Reen made the selfless decision to donate her body to the Dalhousie Human Body Donation Program. In keeping with Reen's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held 2-4 pm on November 5, 2022, in the Kingston Lion's Hall. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
