Obituary

VIDITO, Nicholas Donald "Nick" – age 28 of Meadowvale, NS passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville surrounded by his family. Born in Middleton, he was the son of Rodney and Joy (Fleet) Vidito, Meadowvale. Nick graduated with honours from Middleton Regional High School in 2006 and was the recipient of the Spirit Award for grades 10, 11 and 12. He later attended NSCC Annapolis Campus receiving his diploma in Graphic Design. Nick was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and loved the Toronto Blue Jays. He loved the Acadia Axemen and all the coaches and staff and was the ambassador for Muscular Dystrophy Canada for 2013. Nick also received the bronze level of the Duke of Edinburgh Award and was granted his wish through the Children's Wish Foundation in 1995. He cherished his family and the occasions where they could all be together and two of his favourite things were iced tea and sweet tarts and he will be missed by all who knew him. Nick was a tissue donor, helping to improve the quality of lives for others and therefore his spirit will live on. He is survived by his loving parents, Rodney and Joy Vidito, Meadowvale; paternal grandfather, Arnold Vidito, Nictaux; aunts, Lisa Fleet (Tony), Paradise and Julie Vidito (Allen), Nictaux; uncle Tim (Wanda) Vidito, Coldbrook; several great aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be sadly missed by his beloved golden retriever "Autumn Sun" and his close circle of friends. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents Donald and Helen Fleet and paternal grandmother Bette Vidito. A heart felt thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff of Valley Regional Hospital – ICU for all their wonderful care and compassion shown to Nick. In keeping with Nick's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 6:00PM-8:00PM Sunday, July 10, 2016 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00PM Monday, July 11, 2016 in Middleton & District Arena, 31 Gates Avenue, Middleton with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service in the Nictaux Fire Hall, 9349 Highway 10. Donations in Nick's memory may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada, Children's Wish Foundation or Easter Seals "Camp Tidnish".
