Obituary

Norma Marguerite Belliveau - age 71, of Middleton, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in New Glasgow on November 27th, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Georgina "Jo" (Sarson) Logan. It's difficult to condense a person's whole existence to a few paragraphs.  As a teenager Norma was active in the Girl Guiding movement earning her Gold Cord and then continuing in a leadership role.  Her career as a medical secretary took her to Camp Hill Hospital and the IWK before settling at the Middleton Medical Clinic where she served many years.  Within the community, Norma was always involved and helping wherever her children were participating.  Being the eldest in a large family, she was used to looking after others and had a special knack for making people comfortable.  Guests visiting her home often felt like they were visiting a full service spa.  Norma had a great number of very supportive close friends who loved her dearly, people she treasured immensely.  Her true personality shone whenever she uttered her favorite phrase, "What can I do to help?"  Dearest to her heart was her family.  She cherished her husband, Adrien and her children, especially adored her grandchildren and spoiled rotten grand-doggies. While Norma lived her life with love and grace, she faced her death with courage and dignity.  This courage was most apparent when she steadfastly battled Adrien's cancer, and then faced her own diagnosis and reoccurrence.  Throughout her entire illness, Norma maintained her calmness and practical outlook.  Even while ill, she was always the facilitator wanting to make life a bit easier for everyone.  She always looked for a way to fix things.  Norma - mother, sister, aunt and friend will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Surviving are daughter Nicole (Jamie) Peppard, Middleton; son Emile (Mary-Ann) Bridgewater; grandchildren:  Molly Peppard, Jacob and Macey Belliveau; siblings, Jean Cox, New Glasgow; Wanda (Ken) Wadden, Green Hill; Kathaleen (Peter) Strong, Woodstock, NB; Rick (Karen) Logan, New Glasgow; sister-in-law: Charmene (Paul-Emile) Robichaud, St. Bernard.  She is also survived by Carolyn Cox, Middleton; numerous other nieces and nephews whose lives have taken them far and wide. Besides her parents, Norma was predeceased by her husband Adrien; parents-in-law Emile and Emelie Belliveau,  sister Jo-Ann; brother-in-law Gary Cox. At Norma's request, "There is to be no Funeral", but in her spirit please bring your favorite bottle of wine to share in a glass as we toast and celebrate her life with wine & cheese on Sunday, December 10th from 2:30 - 4:30 at the Temple on Queen, 48 Queen St. in Bridgetown.  Donations can be made to Mid-Valley Palliative Care or Middleton District Arena. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. Online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
