Ferguson, Norma Grace turned 90 on May 28 and died peacefully in her sleep on June 30th at Orchard Villa West in Berwick, NS. Norma Ferguson was born in Florence, Cape Breton, she was predeceased by her parents Angus and Jeannie Ferguson and brother Archie (Angus). She was also predeceased by a daughter Ruth and former husband Dan MacPhail. Norma graduated from the Ottawa Civic Hospital and spent most of her nursing career in Sydney, many years as a Head Nurse. She is survived by daughters, Beverly MacPhail and husband Jim Snair; Susan Murray and husband Andy Murray; son Ken MacPhail; and her niece Janet Ferguson. Norma dearly loved and cherished her family and many friends. An independent and active lady, she enjoyed her daily walks and coffee breaks. She was an avid knitter and sewer, making many large and small quilts and recently shopping bags. Norma loved to read, especially murder mysteries. Her favorite authors were Ann Cleeves and Louise Penny. She was an active member of Hope United Church and United Church Women in Halifax. When she moved to Orchard Villa in Berwick, she became a member of Berwick United Church. We wish to thank her 'extended' family Kara and John Colbourne, owners of Orchard Villa, Kim Ward (Kara's sister) and all the staff at Orchard Villa in Berwick for creating a home and providing excellent care for Mom from 2020-2023 after she suffered a heart attack in 2020. We appreciate the excellent service provided by Larry's Pharmacy in Berwick. In keeping with Norma's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family event with be held at a later date.
