Hutchings, Norman Franklin (WO Ret.) of Greenwood, NS passed away December 11, 2023, after a strong fight with multiple illnesses. He passed away at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS.

Norm is survived by his loving wife, Donna; his children, Melissa (Dan) and Stephanie (Justin); grandchildren, Alexandria, Landon, Zoe-lynn and Owen.

Norm was born in Newfoundland on August 20, 1961.  He joined the Canadian Armed Forces January 1978 and was posted to Greenwood where he met the love of his life; Donna. They married July 17, 1982; welcomed two beautiful children, travelled from posting to posting until they made it back to Greenwood in 1996; where he retired March 2014.

Norm was caring and generous man with a heart of gold; helping anyone in need.  In retirement, he spent time on road trips with Donna as well as travelling to British Columbia to spend time with Melissa's family. He spent his time in British Columbia watching his grandsons Landon and Owen play hockey (and teaching them a few moves while they played road hockey). In Greenwood, he would spend time with Stephanie's family; watching his granddaughter Alex dance and having very imaginative play dates with Zoe (those two were always on an adventure). He was Donna's rock, always there no matter what.  He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

There will be no funeral service at this time, as per Norm's wishes.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Support Our Troops or Wounded Warriors Canada.
