Norman Knott of Nictaux South, Annapolis Co., Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on his 78th birthday at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Lynn Knott; father of Alison (Randal) Hubscher and Christopher Knott; grandfather of Bryce Hubscher and Alexandra Hubscher. Born in Buckinghamshire, England in 1945, Norman married his first love, Lynn, in 1965. As a young man, Norman worked for British Airways, traveling to various parts of the world to build telecommunications infrastructure. In 1980, Norman emigrated with his family to Canada. He continued to work in telecommunications until his retirement from the Calgary Police Service in 2000. He was well liked by his coworkers and friends and known as easy going, kind and somewhat of a prankster. Norman was a jack of all trades with a penchant for problem solving. He was particularly fond of repairing or building anything of an electronics nature. Norman was a man of faith, choosing self-study rather than any organized religion. He often gave to those in need and had an affinity for adopting pets that nobody else wanted. His presence will be missed, and his warm spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
