It is with great sorrow that the family of Orland Clarence Guier announces his passing at the age of 86 on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026.

Orland was born March 24th, 1940, and was a son of the late Eldred Guier and Hilda Pearl Hersey. Orland lived in Central Grove his whole life, but for the last year his residence was at the Villa in Meteghan where he passed away peacefully after living with Dementia. He left for his final journey to reunite with the love of his life. What a beautiful reunion that must have been. Orland raised 3 kids with Iva. Daughter, Darlene (Victor); sons, Eldred (April) and Bruce (Debbie). He also enjoyed helping with his grandchildren, Trevor (Katey), Justin (Maria), Alicia (Marc), Jeremy (Ashley), Jared, Terrilynn, William (Evelyn), Nick, and Matthew (Shanda); granddaughter-in-law, Tiffany (Chris). Orland also has several great grandchildren.

Over the years Orland was a hardworking man. From fisherman to ferryman, fishing with his brother Lloyd. Later, he started driving a snowplow and then worked for Small Brothers driving truck and then McClafferty and Frost. Later, ending his career on the ferry.

In his younger years, he loved deer hunting, and rabbit hunting with his neighbour Roy. Orland liked tinkering in his building where he would work on cars. When his kids were small, they would often take family drives to visit his friend he made talking on the CB set. Later his passion became his lawn mower. He took great pride in having a good-looking lawn. If the grandchildren came to visit, they always looked forward to a mower ride on Grampy’s knee. Ending the day sampling some of Iva’s good baked goods. He had a strong passion for baseball and always rooted for the Jays. He was always there to lend a helping hand when his kids needed him.

Orland is predeceased by his wife, Iva; brothers, Roy and Lloyd; sisters, Hilda and Emma; grandson, Jolan in infancy.

A special thank you goes to all the staff at the Villa for taking such great care of Orland. Also, to the Middleton Funeral Home.
