Pansy Maxine Townsend

TOWNSEND, Pansy Maxine ~ age 95, of Kentville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Shannex Orchard Court, Kentville. Born in Victoria Beach, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Thelma (McCaul) Hayden.

Pansy graduated as a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked for many years at the Miller Hospital in Kentville. A devoted woman of faith, she was an active member of the Pentecostal Church. In her earlier years, Pansy enjoyed gardening and dedicated her life to caring for and supporting her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Howard Townsend (Kathy Heffernan), North Alton; brothers, Philip (Diane) Aptt, Berwick, and Frank Hayden, Ontario; grandchildren, Trevor Hird, Kentville, and Brock Muise, Bear River; and great-granddaughter, Grace Hird.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold; daughter, Becky; sister, Frances Kent; and brother, Ronald.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448, with Rev. Mitchell Lewis officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will take place in the International Christian Mission Cemetery, Greenwood.
