MACDONALD, Patricia Madeline (nee Lightfoot). Pat MacDonald age 83, of Melvern Square, avid quilter, faithful church-goer, and devoted grandmotherdied on November 12, 2013 at Grand View Manor Nursing Home, Berwick. A great baker, she famously insisted on cooking a separate pie for each of her grandchildren at every year's Christmas dinner. Born November 29, 1929 in Melvern Square to the late Margaret (Morse) and Percy Lightfoot she was one of six children. As a young woman, she married Lawrence (Bubs) MacDonald, with whom she settled in Melvern Square. Pat (Ted or Teddy to her friends) was kept busy raising five children. Her few spare moments were often given over to quilting, and many of her family still treasure the beautiful quilts that were the products of her afternoons and evenings. A devout member of the Melvern Square United Baptist Church, Pat was a long-time member of the church choir, and for years would read Bible stories to her grandchildren at bed-time. She loved country music and card games, and was a tireless and loving grandmother, always there for her family and available night and day as a baby-sitter, chauffeur, nurse, and friend. She is survived by her children Karl, Bridgetown; Anthony (Karen Marr) Edmonton, AB; Christopher (Karen), Nanaimo, BC; Jocelyn (Todd) Cormier, Moncton, NB; and Darlene (Randy) Fitch, East Kingston.
