Patricia Ann
Nickerson
June 22, 1943 – February 21, 2026
Patricia Ann Nickerson (née Heasman) of Greenwood Square, NS passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, at the age of 82, in Kentville, Nova Scotia. A quiet, steadfast presence throughout her life, Pat will be remembered for her gentle strength, her unwavering support for her family, and the deep love she carried for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clyde Nickerson, her daughter Zoe Nickerson, her parents, Jack and Eileen Heasman (Dingle), her in-laws, Leslie Nickerson and Marian Nickerson (Bishop), and her brother, David Heasman.
Pat is lovingly remembered by her children, Kelly Nickerson (Craig Sanford) and Warren Nickerson (Lori Rudniski); her sisters, Judy Booker (Landon), Wendy Medd (Sam); and sister-in-law Leslieann Nickerson and brother-in-law John Nickerson (Steve Erjavec). She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Ivan Nickerson (Jessica Harris), Courtney Goodick, Jasmine Brushett (Shane Taylor), Zachary Nickerson, and Delaney Nickerson, and great grandchildren, Chloe and Reid Nickerson, Cade Taylor.
Patricia was born in Moosomin, Saskatchewan and spent her childhood on the shores of Killarney Lake, where her family-owned operated Oak Point Park Campground. She later married Clyde and built a life in Nova Scotia, raising their family and finding joy on the beaches and days by the sea.
Pat graduated from Brandon School of Nursing in 1964. Her nursing career took her to Churchill as a public health nurse, and later to roles at Calgary Foothills, the Victoria General, and Roseway hospitals. In 1987 she joined a six-week nursing exchange in China – an experience she treasured. She completed her career with pride, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Francis Xavier University.
Pat had an artistic and adventurous spirit. She visited such places as San Diego, London, Amsterdam and Barbados. She, Clyde, and Ivan sailed their boat, First Degree, from Florida to Nova Scotia. She also held an amateur radio operator license, VE1BIP. Pat was also a dedicated crafter, known for sewing, rug hooking and painting. In her later years, Pat made her home in the Annapolis Valley, where she found companionship and creativity among the Nicholsville and Kingston rug hooking communities.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Patricia MacDonald, the staff of the Valley Regional Hospital, Continuing Care, the VON, caregiver Brittany MacDonald, and friends Laurel Smith and Shirley Delaquis, Pat's lifelong friends - for their kindness and support.
A celebration of Pat's life and interment of her ashes will take place at a later date at the River Dale Cemetery in Barrington Head, where she will rest next to her husband and daughter.
