CARTER, Patrick Joseph - 94yrs, of Nictaux, NS formerly of Middleton passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Canso, NS he was a son of the late Jack and Cora (Snow) Carter. Patrick was a veteran of the Second World War having served overseas with the Canadian Army and later he retired after 30 plus years as a stationary engineer with CFB Greenwood. He enjoyed playing his guitars and going for drives in his truck. Patrick loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his great great-granddaughter. He is survived by his daughters, Audrey Lowe, Nictaux; Doreen Milbury (Peter Crocker), Wilmot; Marg (Mike) Gillis, Torbrook; his sisters, Emma Corkum and Doris Moody, both of Ontario; his grandchildren, Paul Lowe (Mickey Bethune), New Glasgow; Cindy (Ron) Thimot, Melvern Square; Tracy (Gary) Bates, Nictaux; Peter Milbury (Martha Robar), Torbrook; great-grandchildren, Jesse, Ashley, Morgan, Curtis, Connor and great great-granddaughter Zoey. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife the former Beulah Bruce; sisters, Viola Huntley and Isobel Kelly; brothers, John Carter, Howard Carter and Harold Carter; a set of twins and son-in-law, Garfield Lowe. Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of choice.
