CONNELL, Peggy Lee (nee Higgins) – 62 of Middleton went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 17, 2016 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Digby on May 13, 1953 to the late Mildred Jefferson (nee Andrews) and the late Melvin Higgins. Peggy will be remembered by her children as being a very hard working and loving mother. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Kevin) Thorlakson, Saskatchewan and son Kory Connell, New Brunswick; brother Sherman "Mike" (Bonnie) Higgins, Kingston, NS; sisters Hilda Patterson, B.C., Debbie (Cecil) Carter, Amherst, Angela "Holly" MacKenzie (Claude Vaillancourt), New Albany, Shawna Jefferson, Aylesford; granddaughters Kayla Connell, Karman Connell, Sydney Ells and Aislinn Ells. Peggy was predeceased by her brother Paul Higgins. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 22nd in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 23rd in the Middleton Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Smith officiating. A reception will follow in the Family Life Centre, Middleton Baptist Church. Private family interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. By request, family flowers only.
