HUNTLEY, Peggy Mae ~ Age 78, of Berwick, Kings Co., N.S., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville surrounded by her loving Family. Born on July 24, 1947, in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Everett S. and Marjorie V. (Sarty) Slauenwhite.
Peggy was devoted to family and friends and was a member of Burlington Baptist Church. She had worked as a Personal Care Worker for many years and had cared for seniors in her own home.
Surviving are her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Douglas G. “Doug” Huntley; sons, Ray (Shelley) Huntley, Berwick; Rick (Theresa) Huntley, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Brian, Theresa, Ashley, Nick, Kaitlyn, Alex, Jesse, Todd and Tristan; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Pam (Gary) Burns, Kentville; Edith Tupper, Petitcodiac, New Brunswick; Elizabeth (the late Sheldon) Lenihan, Kentville; brother, David Slauenwhite, Kentville; sister-in-law, Mary Mailman and her son, Mark, of Torbrook; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Marion Greencorn, Blanche Sawler and Paulette Lenihan; brother, Robert Slauenwhite.
All are welcome to attend a celebration of Peggy’s life from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 13th, in Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Hall, 300 Commercial Street, Berwick. Interment will take place at a later date in Burlington Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Lung Association of Canada, Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Department or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. The family would like to say a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Valley Regional Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Peggy.
