GILLIS, Peter Scott - age 37 of Torbrook, NS passed away suddenly Saturday, March 26, 2016. Born in Middleton, Peter was a son of Mona Moore of Nictaux and Scott Gillis of Torbrook Mines.  Peter loved his Mom and Dad and family very much. He also loved his friends and enjoyed many outdoor activities. He enjoyed riding 4-wheelers, buggies, bikes and snowmobiles. His family always said "If it had an engine and would move then Peter would drive it!"  Peter wasn't afraid to tackle anything. He loved long weekends and overnight fishing trips with his family and friends.  Peter loved music and considered himself to be quite a dancer.  He was a carpenter's helper and worked with J. Elliott Construction. Peter will be sadly missed by his mother, Mona and father Scott; brothers  Lance Gillis, Torbrook Mines; Brandon (Kristina) Gillis, Berwick; paternal grandmother, Mary Gallant, Meadowvale; Aunts, Norma (Wayne) Graham, Nictaux; Valda (Inda) Gillis, Alma, NS; Rosa Gillis, Torbrook Mines; Angela (Carl) Vroom, Bloomington; Alycia Harris (Rob), Bear River; Uncle Courtney (Debbie) Gillis, Calgary, AB and numerous great aunts, great uncles and cousins. Peter was pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents Lauris and Elsie Moore and paternal grandfather Erle Gillis. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7- 9 PM, April 1, 2016 in the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main Street, Middleton NS (902) 825-3448 where a celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 2, 2016 with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. Private family Interment will follow the service in Nictaux Cemetery. Donations in Peter's memory may be made to Companion Animal Protection Society.
