MESSENGER, Peter Freeman - It is with deep sadness that the family of Peter Messenger, age 78, of Halifax, announces his passing on November 27, 2014. Peter was the only son of the late Charles Borden Messenger and Helene (Durling) Messenger. Peter spent the majority of his working career as the Purchasing Manager, City of Halifax. His passion for his family and work guided him throughout his life. Peter is survived by his long-time partner, Kaye Strange of Halifax. He was the loving father of James (Donna) Messenger and Kim (Stewart) Healy and proud grandfather to, Thomas, Keegan, Ryan, Nolan and Niamh. A special thank you to Dr. Eddy Kinley, good friend and physician to Peter for many years and the wonderful support he received from the Victorian Order of Nurses. Peter will be greatly missed by his close friends and family members. He leaves behind many wonderful memories for all of us to cherish of the time spent with him. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 2PM-4PM at 1761 Rosebank Avenue, Halifax, NS. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. Burial will take place at a later date.
