Obituary

SPICER, Peter Mark ~ Age 68, of Torbrook, Annapolis Co., N.S., passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at home. Born on March 30, 1957, in Berwick, he was a son of the late Murray E. and Jean M. (Fisher) Spicer.
Peter owned and operated P.M. Spicer Contracting for 40 years. He thoroughly enjoyed his work and was known for his kindness and massive generosity to his family, friends and the community. Peter's optimism and enthusiasm for life was unprecedented. Peter was a long-standing member of Paragon Golf & Country Club and had served on the board for a few years. Peter was a member and past president of the Middleton Curling Club.
Peter was a dedicated life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 1, Middleton, he was committed to providing support in any way he could, from maintaining the building, to cooking at functions, to financial direction, and as a board member for the past 30 years. Peter loved to travel, host and entertain at their home. Peter was a huge sports fan especially for his beloved Toronto Blue Jays, having enjoyed a very recent game at the sky dome (which the Jays won).
Surviving are his wife of 33 years the former Joanne E. Martell; sister, Nancy Kaizer, Berwick; brothers, Paul (Sharon) Spicer, Auburn; James "Jim" Spicer, Hamilton, Ontario; Darren Spicer, Auburn; nieces, Danielle and Katie Bushell; Jodi Spicer; Laura Croft; Robyn Ryerson; Holly Kaizer; nephews, Brandon Bushell and Evan Hatfield (all of which he thought of as his own); three great nieces and nephews. Peter will be sadly missed by in-laws, Richard & Rona Martell and their daughter, Jessica, of St. Catharines, Ontario; Janice (Danny) Knickle, Kingston; Dawn Bushell (Tony Baak), Meadowvale, who have special memories of being treated like his own family.
There will be no visitation. All are welcome to attend a service in celebration of Peter's life that will take place at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, October 11th, 2025 , in Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 1, 205 Marshall Road, Middleton, with Chaplain Leon Langille officiating. A reception will follow. Donations in his memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 1, Middleton.
