BENNETT, Phillip Morris "Socket" "Grampy Gomer" - age 67, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Charles Edward amd Etta May (Wood) Bennett. Phillip had drove a delivery truck, worked for Canard Poultry, Scott Brothers, drove for a taxi service and later picked blue berries at Blue Berry Acres. He will be sadly missed by his beloved cat, Suzie. Phillip is survived by his wife, Janet Marie (Baltzer) VanKippersluis, Berwick; son, David (Tina MacDonald), British Columbia; step-son, Christopher (Karen) VanKippersluis, Torbook Mines; grandson, Cody; step-grandchildren, Amber and Terrilee; brothers, Glendon and Gary, Sheffield Mills; Kenny, Halifax; sisters, Evelyn Hazel, Sheffield Mills; Elsie (LeRoy) Dryden, Truro; mother-in-law, Evangeline Baltzer, Kentville; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Annie (Gordon) Dominey; Reta (Hudson) Barkhouse; step-daughter, Janelle Anne Marie VanKippersluis; father-in-law, Cecil Robert Baltzer; brother-in-law, Robert Terrance Rogers. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 16, in St. Eudora Rebekah Lodge No. 43, at 149 Cottage Street in Berwick. Pastor Geoff Newell officiating.
