Phillip Ralph
Coleman
April 11, 1949 – November 19, 2024
COLEMAN, Phillip Ralph – 75, of Kingston, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 while at home. Born in Nictaux, he was a son of the late Spurgeon and Lenora (Earley) Coleman. Phillip loved his family and enjoyed looking after his property. History and genealogy research were of great interest and Phillip created two Facebook sites – Vintage Valley NS Photographs, Moments, and Memories and Vintage Barrie, Photographs, Moments, and Memories. In his earlier years, Phillip had been a DJ, and loved music. He also founded his own landscaping business, "Yardscapes.ca" while residing in Ontario. Under Yardscapes.ca, he was able to complete projects for clients. Yet, for all that success, it wasn't meant to be … a heart attack, followed up with triple-bypass surgery, forced him to close down the blooming business. Phillip wasn't someone who gave up easily, though! Once he had recovered, he was hired as a sales manager for RONA, where he put to use his lifetime's worth of knowledge and experience in construction to diligently and loyally work for that company for at least ten years until his retirement. Then Phillip returned to his roots by moving back to Nova Scotia, bringing along his family to live near the village where he was born. Golf and fly fishing became hobbies of his in later years. There was always time for a good cup of tea with Phillip. Surviving are his wife, Gail; daughters, Jennifer, Barrie, ON; Katherine, Kingston, NS; son Michael, Kingston, NS; sisters Bettie Mason, Kingston, NS; Debra (Drew) Johnston, Barrie, ON. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister Barbara; brothers Brent, Max, and Joe. Interment will take place in Barrie Union Cemetery next spring. There will be no service at this time. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, 1-855-825-3448.
