England, Phyllis Evelyn – 87, of Bridgetown, formerly of Wilmot, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 14, 2023 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in North Kingston, she was a daughter of the late William and Manola (Baker) Carey. Phyllis was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a homemaker who loved animals, especially her cats. She attended the Wilmot Baptist Church. Phyllis loved grapenut ice cream and sweets. She was always up for a game of bingo, Yahtzee, Chinese checkers, or scrabble with family and friends. Surviving are daughters, Betty LaVerne England, Halifax; Linda (Sam) Chesley, Folly Mountain; Joanne Hudgins, Nictaux; grandchildren Nicole Chesley (Charles Donelle), Rachel (Jeremy) O'Reilly, Magen (Phil) Martin, Emily Hudgins; great grandchildren Haylee, Brooklyn, Allie, Ezra-May, and Seth; step great grandchildren Elias and Hunter; sister Virginia; half-sisters Pauline, Eva. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bishop; her sister, Marie; half-brother, Morley. A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, May 27, 2023 in North Kingston Cemetery, North Kingston.
