Obituary

HAIGHT, Phyllis Irene ~ age 94 of Digby passed away peacefully on Friday June 18, 2021 in Tideview Terrace, Digby surrounded by her family. Born in Hillgrove, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Sarah "Sadie" (Vanbuskirk) Haight. She was the last surviving member of 15 siblings. Phyllis was a homemaker who enjoyed smiling, laughing, jokes, music, dancing, playing games, watching game shows, quilting and most of all her family. She was a member of St. Mary's Bay Baptist Church, Barton. In October 2017 she moved to Tideview Terrace, Sissiboo House where she made friends with residents and staff, this was her home and they were part of her family. We would like to thank all the staff in Sissiboo House for their love and compassion shown to Mom in the last few years and especially in the last few months. It was greatly appreciated by her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Peter) Turnbull and Marlene Haight, both of Digby; adopted son, Barry (Gladys) Jennings, Brighton; son, Reg (Pamela) Haight, Hillgrove; grandchildren, Craig (Sarah) Haight, Berwick; Morgan Hempen, Digby; Brandon (Taylor) Turnbull, Annapolis, Maryland; great grandchildren Cole and Ashley Haight, Eva Turnbull, Savannah and Jacob Bent and 1 great grandson on the way; several nieces and nephews and special children "at heart" Shelley, Jonathan and Kelly.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Earl Haight, brothers Harry, Glendon, John, Thomas, Ivan, Eugene, Stuart, Floyd in infancy, Bernard, Joseph in infancy, sisters Nellie, Stella, Ruth and Daisy.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, July 3, 2021 in St. Mary's Bay Baptist Church, Barton with Rev. Lori Bertaux and Rev. Roy Bertaux officiating. COVID-19 protocols in place. Interment will be in Methodist Burial Ground, Bloomfield. Family flowers only please. Donations in Phyllis's memory may be to St. Mary's Bay Baptist Church or Tideview Terrace Bus Fund.
