Obituary

Phyllis Bernice Langille age 95 left her earthly home to be with the lord July 27, 2017. We rejoice that she is now in the presence of our Lord. Phyllis is the oldest daughter of the late Doris and Evelyn (Rafuse) Veinot of Parkdale N.S. In 1943, she moved to Brooklyn in Annapolis County from Lunenburg County with her late husband Herbert Langille. A member of the Middleton Baptist Church and Sunday School Teacher for many years, Phyllis also organized and taught Sunday school in the Brooklyn and Farmington churches before they closed. She enjoyed writing stories and plays for both Sunday School classes and the W.M.S. group in Brooklyn and Middleton. Phyllis embraced new experiences and loved to learn, enjoying reading, writing, quilting, and travelling to Florida, Texas, Europe and across Canada with members of her beloved family. Many great memories were made and cherished; Phyllis raised five children and also provided a home for many foster children. Everyone was welcome at their dinner table and many families in the community enjoyed a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings because of her and Herbert's love for Jesus. The Lord and her passion for family was always at the forefront. Through her faith, she gave family and friends great examples of forgiveness and unconditional love. Phyllis is survived by five children: Cyril (Joy), Lawrencetown; Roselie (Jean-Claude) Gignac, Halifax; Leon (Brenda), Brooklyn; Eric (Judy), Wolfville; Paul (Margaret), Brooklyn; grandchildren; Stacey Langille, Jacqueline (Daniel) Langille, Michelle (Phillip) Gignac, Camille Gignac, Marc (Serena) Gignac, Nathan (Lisa) Langille, Noelle (Mark) Messom, Lisa (Alex) Levy, Peter (Rachel) Langille, Pamela Langille, Derek (Toni) Langille, Christy Langille (Mike), Amber Langille (Acel), foster granddaughter Lisa Laroche, and seventeen great-grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by two sisters, Francis Saunders and Isabel Parks and one brother Albert Veinot. She was predeceased by brothers; Leslie, Douglas, Edward, Malcom, Raymond, sister Kathleen, and foster son Donald Rhoddy. By request, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 1st, in the Middleton Funeral Home with her son Rev. Leon Langille and grandson Rev. Derek Langille officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Private family interment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. By request, family flowers only.
