Obituary

WHISTON (Balsor), Phyllis Marion Mae ~ 82, formerly of Wolfville, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022, in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in White Rock Mills, on June 17, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Rufus and Bertha (Brewster) Balsor. She is survived by her husband, Ernest A. Whiston, Lakeville; daughter, Deborah (John Levy), Waterville; son, James Corbett, Kentville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Hilda, Wolfville; brother, Justin (Mabel) Balsor, Berwick. She was predeceased by sisters, Alice and Goldie; brothers, Cecil, Rufus, and Carl; grandson, Anthony. Phyllis loved the great outdoors and walking through the woods, fishing and just watching the birds and animals. She also loved playing her guitar along with her husband, Ernest, and playing at jams and benefits. She did a lot of volunteering for people and the Church. She loved the Lord and faithfully read her Bible daily. Phyllis and Ernest were baptized in April 1997 at Acadia University and gave their lives to the Lord whom Phyllis loved dearly. A private graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29, in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, with Rev. Andrew Conrad officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the West Brooklyn Baptist Church or Parkinson's Foundation.
