O'NEIL, Phyllis Rose ~ Age 76, New Albany, Annapolis Co., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at home. Born on December 30, 1944, in Springfield, Annapolis Co., she was a daughter of the late Carl V. and Winnie B. (Veinot) Whynot. Phyllis was well known to be an avid walker and was proud of her vegetable and flower garden. She loved her family who will miss her greatly. Surviving are children, Annie (Joseph) Whynot; Douglas "Dougie" (Heather) O'Neil, both of Springfield; Belle (Grant) Johnston, New South Wales, Australia; Allan (Dale) O'Neil, Morse Road; Keith O'Neil, New Albany; Darlene (Willie) Sarty, Salmon River Road, N.B.; grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Dennis, Melissa, Daniel, Sean, Joel, Caitlin, Jamie, Jerry, Elijah, Michaelia, Mariah and Dylan; great grandchildren, Zander, Kaden, Chase, Jazlyn, Brady, Bailey, Trey, Joey, Zander, Mateo, Elleena, Hallie, Hannah, Jaime, Jillian, Jerry, Austin, Lilly, Jadis, Adden, Olivia, Ethan, Savannah, Athena and one more due to be born soon; great great grandchildren, Joel and a little boy to be born soon; brother, Robert (Christine) Whynot, Springfield; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Richard L. O'Neil; granddaughter, Naomi; brother, James Whynot; sister, Leona Stoddart. Phyllis loved and cared for her dog, Rosie and cat, Tigger and missed them when each passed away. A funeral service, by invitation only, will be held in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448 with Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Interment will be in the Springfield Cemetery. For those unable to attend in person, a live webcast of the service will be available for viewing on the funeral home website at 1:55 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, ADT by selecting the "Live Stream" option at the top of the home page.
