SILVER, Phyllis Anne ~79, of North Range, Digby County, passed away peacefully at her home on September 7, 2026.
Born in Digby, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Charles and Mae (Comeau) Ryan. She grew up in Marshalltown and began working as a teenager at the Digby Pines, as well as spending a few summers working at Lake Louise. She later held several managerial positions with various businesses in Digby. Phyllis truly enjoyed working with the public and the many people she met throughout her working years.
One of Phyllis’s favourite pastimes was reading. When she found a good book, she could read it without putting it down. She also loved listening to music, which was almost always playing when you stopped in for a visit, and she took great pleasure in gardening.
Phyllis especially enjoyed outings with her sisters, close friend Linda, family, and friends. She treasured visits from her son, Danny, daughter-in-law, Cora, and her special granddaughter, Shaylene, and her husband, Eric. Phyllis recently became a great-grandmother to Violet, and she would have the biggest smile whenever she saw pictures and videos of her.
Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her son, Danny (Cora), Athens, Ontario; granddaughter, Shaylene (Eric), and great-granddaughter, Violet, North Gower, Ontario; sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Jordan of Brighton; Patricia “Patty” Theriault of Digby; and Kathy (Tony) Chute of Brighton; brothers, Jerry (Debbie) Ryan of Mt. Pleasant; and Ramie Ryan of Caledonia; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Ryan of Digby.
Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her son, John Robert, in infancy; and her brothers, Larry Ryan and Kenny Ryan.
There will be no funeral service or visitation, by request. A private family burial will take place at a later date in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Digby, N.S.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IWK Health Centre Foundation, Halifax. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448.
