YOUNG, Phyllis Elizabeth ~ age 97 of Clarence, NS passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 in the Veterans Unit, Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Dawlish, England, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Catherine (Clarke) Hill. Phyllis was a veteran of the Second World War having served with the Royal Army in England. She was a war bride and came to Canada where she devoted her life to raising her family. Phyllis always made everyone feel welcome and loved watching her favourite game shows, soap operas and was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan. She loved her family dearly, especially all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Phyllis is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Moore, North Williamston; Carolyn (Jim) Caines, Brickton; Christina (Peter) Roosje, Clarence; Pamela Mullen (Lester "Lee" Covey), Spryfield; son, Merwyn (Honey) Young, New Minas; daughter-in-law, Edith (Young) Oliver, Greenwood; son-in-law, Lowell Bent, Alberta and all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Young; daughter Rosemarie Bent; son Dennis Young; son-in-law Terry Moore and twelve brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will be held 4:00PM – 6:00PM Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in Clarence Baptist Church Vestry, 2659 Clarence Road. All are welcome.
