NIXON, Ralph Vernon ~ Age 90, of Margaretsville, Annapolis Co., passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, in Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born on July 2, 1933, in Middleton, he was a son of the late Austin and Marguerite (Hudgins) Nixon. Ralph had worked at Middleton Dry Cleaners and for Canada Post driving the rural mail from 1978, until his retirement in 1998 He had owned and operated the family farm for many years. Ralph enjoyed playing cards and cribbage. He will be sadly missed by his dear cat, Lucky. Surviving are his beloved wife of 64 years, the former Doris B. Hardwick, Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown; son, Mark Nixon (Sue), Margaretsville; daughter, Teresa Nixon, Middleton; step grandchildren, Cody Baxter, Calgary, Alta; Jessica Baxter, Drayton Valley, Alta; brother, Everett Nixon (Peggy); sister, Winnifred Lightfoot, both of Wilmot; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Pauline Platchta and Marion Creelman. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 20, in Bay View Cemetery, Margaretsville, with Rev. Valerie Taylor officiating. A reception will follow in Margaretsville Volunteer Fire Department. Donations in his memory may be made to Bay View Cemetery or Margaretsville Volunteer Fire Department.
