Obituary

ROWTER, Ralph Clark 74, Melvern Square passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 20, 2011. Born in Maitland Bridge, Annapolis County, he was the oldest son of the late William and Freda (Lewis) Rowter. Clark enjoyed farming and the farming way of life. He particularly took great pleasure in visiting and participating in exhibitions and fairs, especially with the Old Greys at pulling and plowing competitions. Clark was well known, kind and generous and always had time to stop and talk to his many friends. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marlene (Mosher); daughters Vicki (Robbin) Rowter-MacLeod, Aylesford; Pam (Harry) Patterson, North Alton; Angela (Greg) Harrison, Melvern Square and son Bradley (Roslyn), Liverpool; Grandchildren Cody (Angie), Kelsey, Kailey, Kyle, Riley, Joel, Alexis and Parker; Great-Grandchildren Chloe and Cordelia; sisters Jeanette Rawding, Northfield and Claire (Harley) White, Kempt as well as mother in law Bessie Mosher, Nineveh. He was predeceased by brothers Bruce and Brian. Visitation will be held 7 9 p.m. Saturday, January 22nd in the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448, where a funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23rd, Rev. Leon Langille officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service. A private family interment will take place in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. By request, family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
