Obituary

SWINAMER, Ralph Keddy – age 81 of Wilmot, NS passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Three Mile Plains, he was a son of the late Russell and Annie (Eldridge) Swinamer. Ralph retired after 37 years of service with the Royal Canadian Air Force and Canadian Air Force beginning his career as an Airframe Technician later remustering to Flight Engineer. He was a life member and Past President of Royal Canadian Legion, Kingston Branch No. 98 and Past Master of Argus Lodge No. 133, A.F. & A.M., Kingston. Ralph was a life member and Past Patron of Mayflower Chapter No. 2, Order of the Eastern Star and Past Grand Patron of Grand Jurisdiction NS and PEI. He was General Grand Chapter Committee Member / Scottish Rite Charities. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Marylyn Baker, Wilmot; his daughters, Meta Anne Manning, Dartmouth; Donna Swinamer (Lael Peters), Calgary; his son, R. Terry Swinamer, Kingston, ON; his brother, John (Sherry) Swinamer, Mahone Bay; his grandchildren Graham, Robyn, Leif, Nils, Shauna and great grandchildren Hunter and Dorian. Besides his parents, he was predeceased his sons Alan and Graham and sister Janet Davidson. In keeping with Ralph's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 7-9PM Wednesday, March 30, 2016 beginning at 7:00PM with an Order of Eastern Star tribute conducted by Mayflower Chapter No. 2 followed by a Masonic Lodge tribute conducted by Markland Lodge No. 99 all in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. A Legion tribute conducted by Kingston Branch No. 98 followed by a memorial service with Rev. Michael Mugford officiating will be held 2:00PM Thursday, March 31, 2016 in the Middleton Funeral Home with a reception following the service. Private family interment will be held in the North Kingston Cemetery. Donations in Ralph's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
