Obituary

DOBSON, Ralston Lafayette-age 68, of Meadowvale, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Aubrey and Dorothy (Fahey) Dobson. In early years, Ralston worked with Stedman's Department Store, only to arrive in Bridgetown, where he met Joan, the love of his life. Ralston was employed for over 25 years at Thompson's Transfer. He enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ralston and Joan did everything together, always there for each other and their family. He is survived by his wife, the former Joan Hatt, Meadowvale; children, Jeffrey Dobson (Rosie Gorospe), Edmonton; Valerie (Troy) Mugford, Dartmouth; Andrew (Kathy) Dobson, Meadowvale; Heather Dobson (Leo Cardinal), Edmonton; grandchildren, Matthew, Jaret, James, Felix, Wyatt, Isabella Joan, Felicity and Andrea. Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Richard. Visitation will be held 7:00PM to 9:00PM, Wednesday, October 22, 2014, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448 where the funeral service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, October 23, 2014, with Rev. Michael Mugford officiating. Interment will be in Torbrook Mines United Cemetery. By request, family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the IWK Foundation, Lung Association of Nova Scotia, or a Charity of Choice.
