Obituary

MYRICK, Randall Morton-86 of Aylesford passed away peacefully on Monday, November 5, 2012 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville with family by his side. Born on December 7, 1925 in Blanch, Shelburne County, he was the son of the late Julia Exilena Myrick. Randall retired from the Department of Highways in 1986, where he was employed for 27 years, working on steel bridges. He was a veteran of the Second World War having served as a Lance Corporal with the Canadian Army in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #33 Bridgetown. Randall enjoyed reading, camping, his trips and visits to Port Latour and talking about his old cars and how fast he drove them. He loved all animals, especially cats and dogs. He is survived by his common law wife, Frances Feindel and her family, Cherlynn (Ian) Atkins, Bedford; David (Dorothy) Feindel, Amman, Jordan; Elizabeth (Joe) Sullivan, Newbrook, AB; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Tammy) Atkins, Dartmouth; Jennifer Atkins, Smithers, BC; Ariel and William Feindel, Regina, SK; Ian Feindel, Amman, Jordan; Erin Sullivan, Enfield; great grandchildren, Keegan and Brody Atkins, Dartmouth; step-children, Ann Marie ( Jack) Pearle and their family, Paradise; Kerry Balcom and his family, Cape Breton; special step-daughter, Judy (Wendall) Foster, Thunder Bay, ON; brother, Maynard, Barrington; sister, Helen (Merril) Rapp, Spryfield; special cousin, Bill (Mary) King, Toronto and special "grand dog" Molly. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his much loved Aunt Bessie and Uncle Milford King. He was also predeceased by his wife, Muriel Ryer and his common law wife, Elsie Balcom. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Thursday, November 8, 2012 beginning at 7:00PM with a Legion Tribute conducted by Royal Canadian Legion Branch #33 Bridgetown in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 where the funeral service will be held 1:00PM, Friday, November 9, 2012 with Rev. Mark Reece officiating. Interment will be in the Paradise Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of Valley Regional Hospital Medical B Extension for their compassionate care during Randall's time in hospital. By request, family flowers only.
