CLUETT, Sgt. Raymond Stephen (Ret'd ) ~ Age 81, of Wilmot, Annapolis Co., passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on November 20, 1941, in Halifax, he was a son of the late Stephen and Edith (Thorne) Cluett.
Raymond was a 33-year member of the Canadian Armed Forces, serving as a Motorman in the R.C.R., with postings in Egypt, numerous tours in Norway and two tours in Cyprus.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, the former Paulette M. Shirley; daughter, Susan (Wayne) Hearn, Coldbrook; sons, Stephen (Robyn Keough), Cluett, Kitchener, Ont.; Sean, (Angela Clow) Cluett, Wilmot; grandchildren, Alyssa Cluett and Shaedon Woods, their mother, Sandy Woods; sisters, Jean (the late Harry) Beno, Colbourg, Ont.; Lillian (Ross) Roberts, Cole Harbour; sisters-in-law, Rosa Cluett, of Calgary, AB, Marion Cluett, Bedford; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Joan (Kenneth) Porter; Phyllis (Lewis) Grandy; Jerry, Montford (Julie), Wayne and Herbert Cluett.
A service in celebration of life will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 19, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448, with Rev. Wayne Schurman officiating, with a time of reception until 4 p.m.
