Bent, Reginald Lewis – 83 of Coldbrook, Kings Co., passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2024. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Albert and Myrtle (Milbury) Bent. Reg grew up and attended school in Middleton. At the age of 18, he moved to Toronto, ON; and began working at Martin and Keystone Garage. He moved to Burlington, ON; where he worked with Red Stallion (automotive parts and supplies). He also lived in Carlisle for many years and retired to Napanee after 43 years of service. Reg wanted to get back to his roots, so in 2022 he and Marilyn moved back to Nova Scotia and settled in Coldbrook. His meticulous garage is a testament of his love for cars and the automotive industry. He was a member of the Durant Car Club. He enjoyed playing cards with his poker buddies. He is survived by his wife, the former Marilyn Smith, Coldbrook; daughter, Kelly (John) Eastwood, Hamilton, ON; son, Kevin (Julie), Moncton, NB; four grandchildren, Jack and Sadie Eastwood; Eric and Emily Bent. Besides his parents, Reg was predeceased by a daughter, Tracy; sister, Marjorie Bent; two brothers, Victor and Carl. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or memorial service by request. Private burial will take place later in Ontario. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
