Lund
May 18, 1937 – January 14, 2023
Reginald Earl Lund CD, Retired CAF
May 18, 1937 – January 14, 2023
Reg passed away at Valley Regional Hospital with his wife by his side and two sons nearby. Reg was born in Elkhorn, Manitoba. Those of you who asked him, "Where is Elkhorn?" will probably remember his answer. His great sense of humour will be missed. Reg was a good father and loved his boys, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly. Can't leave out his past kitty, RD and present kitty, Sweet Pea. Reg served his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force for over 32 years. He got to travel the world to many places but some places he "only saw the airport" his words. He was stationed in Quebec City and really loved this posting. Lhar, Germany was also a much-loved posting. Trenton, ON another on the list of great postings. I don't think there were any he didn't like. He was in Greenwood, NS twice and PEI twice. Finally retired from Greenwood in 1987. He moved to Elkhorn with his girlfriend now wife Shari. Oh, but it is hard to go back home after so many years. Seven years and then it was back to NS which he considered his home. Had a cottage on Trout Lake since 1972 and built a permanent home in 1995 where he resided and loved it. Many family gatherings have taken place there with family and friends. Reg was predeceased by his father, Earl Grey Lund; mother, Mary Margaret "Polly" nee Cole; his brother Blair; sister Doreen Fowler both from Manitoba; brothers-in-law Glen Fowler, MB; Roger Nowlan, SK; and Rick Connell, AB. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Shari (Connell), sister Marie Nowlan, Saskatoon, SK; brothers, Roy (Nancy) Dryden, ON; Ron (Glynis), Clear Lake, MB; brother-in-law, Mike (Laura) Connell, AB; sister-in-law, Linda Connell; sons, Aaron, his sons Oliver and Eli, NS; Donald (Christine), their sons Anthony and Aaron, ON; and Todd, AB and his daughters Chloe, NS and RayAnne, USA; two great grandsons, four great granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the Paramedics, Doctors, Nurses, and staff of the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville and Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton for all the great care he received, not just this stay but over the years. A Celebration of Reg's Life will be held 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2023 in the Nictaux Fire Hall. All are welcome. Donations in Reg's memory may be made to the Lung Association of Canada, SPCA or charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street 1-855-825-3448.
