Obituary

WHITE, Reginald Richard "Bubs"- age 86 of Nictaux, NS passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in the Annapolis Community Health Centre in Annapolis Royal. Born in Liverpool, NS, Bubs was a son of the late Clarence and Ethel (Morrison) White. Bubs worked as Head Chef at Acadia University for 35 years. He served Queen Elizabeth twice during his career; once in Nova Scotia when she was visiting for the Apple Blossom Princess Tea and once in British Columbia. He also served in the Canadian Armed Forces during WWII and was a drummer for the Flames, a local band that played regularly for 14 Wing Greenwood during the 1950's.Bubs loved the outdoors and he was an avid fisherman. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Michelle White (Geordie McCaan) of Ottawa, ON; sons, Michael White of Margaretsville and Ivan Rogers of Fort Saskatchewan, AB; sisters, Gertrude (George) Hill of Winnipeg, MB; Florence (Percy) Jackson of Montreal, Que.; brothers Ronald (Rhoda) White of Middleton; Thomas Warrington of Halifax, NS; Derryell Warrington of Hammond Plains, NS; Derrick Warrington of Liverpool, NS; Carl Warrington of British Columbia; Carter Warrington, Halifax and Jim (Joan) Brothers of Halifax, NS; sister Valerie Warrington of Liverpool, NS; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bubs was predeceased by his wife the former Anna Louise Rogers; sister Vivian Carvery of Sackville, NS; brothers, Freddie Warrington and Brian Warrington both of Liverpool, NS. In keeping, with Bubs wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday August 15, 2017 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Theresa Character officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lynn Hiscock (Bo Jordan) and family for all her care and compassion shown to Bubs in the last three years.
