BALCOM, Reta Eileen age 93 of Bridgetown passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, NS. Born in Clarence, she was daughter of the late Orin and Alvey Etta (Hudson) Beals. Reta was a member of St. John's United Church, Middleton. She enjoyed rug hooking, making quilts and knitting. Reta is survived by daughters Janet Bradley, Saskatchewan and Brenda Milligan, Vermont; son, Allan (Corina) Balcom, Mill Bay, BC; sister, Thelma (Joe) Zinker, South Windsor, Connecticut; grandchildren, Natalie Balcom and Stefan Balcom, British Columbia; Nadine Hansen Jorgenson, Alberta; Dane Millar, Fredericton; great grandchildren, Brandon and Justin, British Columbia and Nathaniel, Noah and Joshua, Alberta. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lorris, brothers, Carl, Raymond and Glen Beals, sisters, Olive Hines and Alice Eldridge and grandsons Wayne and Shawn Hansen. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown at a later date.
