It is with heavy hearts that the family of Steven Camilien Vezina announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, Kings County.

Born in Arvida, Quebec, Steven was the beloved son of the late Robert and Marjorie (Furnival) Vezina. A proud Canadian and devoted serviceman, Steven served with distinction in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 33 years, retiring at the rank of Captain. His career took him across the globe, with postings in Cold Lake, Germany, Ottawa, Greenwood, and Bagotville, where he met the love of his life, Line, in 1989.

Steven's service and leadership were recognized at the highest levels—he was the recipient of an Award of Excellence from Queen Elizabeth and earned distinction for his exceptional contributions to the F18 and F35 aircraft projects. After his military retirement, he continued his work in defense and innovation with Lockheed Martin, focusing on shipbuilding.

Steven was a man of deep compassion, quiet strength, and many passions. Together with Line, he ran the Greenwood Saddle Club, where his love for animals and community shone brightly. He could often be found at the stables—always lending a hand, caring for the horses, and fostering a sense of warmth and camaraderie. He was deeply respected by the local equestrian community and cherished the time spent in that space.

An avid astrophotographer and skilled woodworker, Steven had a unique eye for detail and beauty, often spending nights under the stars or in his workshop crafting with care.

Steven is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Line, and their devoted daughter, Andrea, both of Aylesford. He also leaves behind his sister, Lynn (Doug) Krahn of Middle Sackville; sister-in-law, Monique Berube (Sylvain Rouleau), brother in laws, Jean- Pierre Berube (Eveline Bouchard) Daniel Berube (Claire Paulin) Richard. Berube (Martine Lagrange), Raymond Berube (Susanne Bergeron) and many nieces, nephews and finally his father-in-law Jacques Berube who loved him dearly. Also his 4 legged companion "Sadie".

Steven was predeceased by his mother-in-law Charlotte Tremblay, who loved him like a son.

Steven's legacy is one of service, love, and quiet grace. He touched countless lives through his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to those around him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
