Obituary

VEINOTTE, Rex Brian ~ Age 70, of Melvern Square, Annapolis Co., formerly of Black Rock, Kings Co., passed away peacefully at home after a short battle with cancer on Monday, May 3, 2021, with his wife, Darlene and sister, Joy by his side. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Born on August 30, 1950, in Berwick, Kings Co., and was a son of the late Cecil E. and Nina M. (Joudrey) Veinotte. Rex had a love for animals and his two best dog buddies were Zoey and Buddy (his little dogs). He was avid hunter, enjoying many trips to Cape Breton, staying with his buddy, Kenny Budge. Rex had worked in the woods most of his life and at Larsen Packers Ltd., Berwick for 10 years, before moving to Alberta, where he drove skidder for 10 years. He made friends everywhere he went. Rex leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, the former Darlene Schofield, Melvern Square; his son, Ashley (Debra) Veinotte, Aylesford; step daughters, Natasha (Glen) Lenihan, Wilmot; Stephanie (Kevin) Seaboyer, Sackville; 10 grandchidren, Robert "RJ", Amelia, Brian, Teanna and Leroy Veinotte; Adam Lenihan; Samantha Whitman; Sheridan Saulnier; Wyatt and Gemma Seaboyer; brothers and sisters, Harvey (Darlene), Black Rock; Ann (David) Hiltz, Aylesford; Don (Margaret), Somerset; Joy (Emerson), Factorydale; many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by daughter, Dorothy in infancy; brothers and sisters, Lawrence, Ruby Ann, Milton, Wanda Whitman; niece, Kimberley Veinotte. Interment service will take place at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 20, in East Dalhousie United Baptist Cemetery, East Dalhousie, with Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating. You are welcome to bring a chair or umbrella. A time in celebration of Rex's life will follow. Donations in his memory may be made to Hope for Wildlife.
