Rhonda Elaine Brennan

It is with great sorrow and loving hearts that we, the family of Rhonda Elaine Brennan announce her passing on June 14th, 2026, at the age of 64 in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.

Rhonda was born in Middleton, Nova Scotia at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital on May 8th, 1962. In her preschool years her family moved to Mississauga, Ontario where she grew up with her parents and siblings. In teenage years she was “shipped off” to Nova Scotia for the summer with her brother Jimmie to stay with her grandmother Florence in Margaretsville. Rhonda and Jimmie had a wild summer on the Margaretsville beach and vicinity with the local youth. She returned to Ontario with a happy surprise. She was pregnant with her first son and quickly moved to Nova Scotia where he was born. Years later her daughter and finally her youngest son were born.

Rhonda loved being a mother but something she loved just as much was her art. Rhonda was an expert crocheter and worked mostly in textiles. At times dabbling in painting and sculpture. She had a piece which she titled, “Ne Manges Pas le Neige Jaune” (Don’t Eat Yellow Snow). Rhonda loved to joke, thinking she was quite funny with her use of sarcasm and quick wit. At times she was and even if she wasn’t everyone still laughed.

Rhonda graduated from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics; the last year this degree was offered. It logically followed from her childhood that this would be the degree she chose as growing up she loved to sew her own clothes, do embroidery or “fancy work” as her grandmother would call it, and she enjoyed her time in the kitchen with her mum baking.

In her older years she loved to watch her “Murder and Mayhem” aka true crime as well as DIY videos. She had an avid passion for reading, preferring “slice of life” books where she could learn a little bit about a different culture or perspective.

Rhonda is survived by her loving family: companion, James Hagan, Aylesford, NS; son, Daniel Brennan, Aylesford, NS; daughter, Ena Brennan, St. John’s, NL; son, James “Jassy” Brennan (Wynter Baxter), Wolfville, NS; grandchildren, Abigail, Ashley, and Charlie; sister, Janis Brennan, Wilmot, NS; cousin, Megan McBride, Kingston, NS; as well as her beloved nieces and nephews, Lindsey, Valen, Jade, Kyla, Max, Tyra, Zoe, Riley, Hunter, Bentley, Kaiden, and Lincoln.

Rhonda is predeceased by her loving parents; mother, Stella Dunn (Joe Dunn), Aylesford, NS; father, James Brennan, Ontario; brother, Jimmie Brennan, Port Lorne, NS; and grandmother, Florence Brennan, Margaretsville, NS.

In keeping with Rhonda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free, 1-855-825-3448. Online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
