Obituary

ENGLAND, Richard Harold ~ age 78 of Wilmot, NS passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Berwick, he was the son of the late Harold and Pansy (Schofield) England. Richard was a well-known Business Owner of England's Warhouse Ltd, which he started in 1970 in Wilmot, expanding the business to include an auction house where he was an auctioneer and a group of 5 Furniture stores including Furniture Plus in Hebbs Cross, Kentville and New Minas. Later he ran another small business England's Truck Load Sales and continued working in the furniture business and driving the delivery truck, making deliveries all over the Annapolis Valley. He was very personable, helpful and generous. Richard always had a joke and story for everyone. He is survived by his loving companion of over 30 years, Ann Russell, Wilmot; daughter, Jocelyn England (Tim Walter), South Williamston; sisters, Marilyn (John) Baltzer, Bridgewater; Roseann (Tom) Todd, South Farmington; Pauline Carey (Byron), Cambridge; brothers, Ronald (Elizabeth) England, Young's Cove; Carl (Heather) England, Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Dyson England. In keeping with Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 3:00PM Sunday, August 7, 2022 in Hillside Cemetery, Port George with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
