Obituary

GODSON, Richard William 87 of Dartmouth, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in the QE II Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in London, Ontario he was a son of the late Harry and Gladys (Southam) Godson. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1942 to 1945 on HMCS Provost and the HMCS Nabob. Following the War, Richard graduated from Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario in 1950. He was then employed with Bell Canada from 1950 until his retirement in 1981 as Health and Safety Supervisor. Richard is survived by daughter Jennifer Canam (Cecil) Dartmouth, N. S. and son David L. Godson (Holly), Taber, Alberta. Grandchildren Stephanie Wilson, Clarke Godson, Megan Krimp and Brittnay Canam as well as great grandchildren Jade Wilson, Ava Wilson, Tate Wilson and Autumn Godson. He was predeceased by his wife the former A. Marjorie Fenerty. By request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 28th in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton, Rev. Matthew Sponagle officiating.
