HEIGHT, Richard Gorden "Dick" ~ age 82 of North Williamston, NS passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 19, 2025 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Middleton, NS he was a son of the late Gorden and Vera (Charlton) Height. Dick was self-employed and operated Richard G. Height Trucking & Backhoe for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and visiting family. Dick loved working with his shingle mill and enjoyed keeping the heat on in the house. He was an avid Nova Scotia Exhibition fan, traveling to Bridgewater, Windsor, Caledonia, Bear River, and Lawrencetown. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially by his cat, "Ginger". Dick is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Madelaine "Maddie", North Williamston; daughter, Sharleen Whitman, South Williamston; sons, Bud Height (Rosa Gillis) and Kevin (Michele) Height, both of Nictaux; sister, Mary; grandchildren Miranda Gates, Grande Prairie, Alberta; Crystal (Evan) Weaver, Lawrencetown; Katrina (Craig) Kellough, Middleton; Morgan (Melanie) Height, Thorburn, Pictou Co; Jessica Height (Jeremy Stevens), Bridgewater and great grandchildren Meghan, Mason, Connor, Jacob, Mavea, Isabelle, Rosalie and one on the way. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Ronald Height and son-in-law, Michael Whitman. The family would like to thank the paramedics and the Lawrencetown Fire Department. In keeping with Dick's wishes, cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to Diabetes Canada or Canadian Cancer Society.
