Medicraft, Ricky "Rick" Gilbert - 63 of Brickton, N.S. passed away peacefully with love and support of his family July 17th, 2025, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Linda (White) Medicraft, Brickton; his son, Justin Medicraft and Joanna (Solomon), Pickering, Ontario; Fur baby, Rocky, Brickton; his parents, Allen and Joyce (Harris),Findlay, sisters, Angie (Paul) Spencer, Berwick; Becky (Brett) Taylor,  Nictaux Falls; brothers Tim (Wanda) Vidito, Wolfville; Jeff Medicraft, Middleton; Greg (Danica) Findlay, Nictaux Falls; his mother-in-law, Jean White, Brickton; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Rick is predeceased by his biological father Larry Medicraft, grandparents Ethel and Walter Harris, Charlie and Leona Medicraft, Mildred and Kenneth Findlay, his beloved nephew Christopher Medicraft, Dot and Joe Ells, and George and Linda Ells who held a very special place in Rick's heart. He cherished the time they had together and shared their love of music and entertainment.

He worked for many years in the CE Section and wildlife control at CFB Greenwood. Rick was an avid guitar player and learned many instruments by ear. Music was his passion. He could write, play, and sing. The Family would like to thank the members of Deputy Dawg for bringing their friendship and purpose to Rick's life. Rick was the strong silent type but his words were genuine. He loved with his whole heart and we knew it. He enjoyed family get-togethers, trips to the shore, and all types of movies: westerns, old black and whites, and good old horror. Rick liked how movies were made. If there was a blooper, he would find it. Rick enjoyed his thick homemade pizza and a good laugh.

Rick had many health issues over the years, but with the love and support of Linda, Justin, fur baby Rocky, who will miss him dearly, Rick was able to get through the bad days.

Rick's strength and determination is an inspiration to us all. Rick is at peace, and he will be missed by many.
