BENNETT, Robert Wayne - On November 11, 2013, at the age of 68 years I passed away peacefully at home surrounded by my family. I was born June 4th, 1945 on Scott's Bay Road to Earl and Gladys Bennett, the 5th child of a family of 13 children. It was the best time to be a child and I enjoyed every minute of my time growing up in the country. After graduating from High School, I started my career in finance and after employment with a finance company and a bank. I finalized my work history retiring after 27 years with the Province of Nova Scotia. In those years, I became familiar with electronics and enjoyed hobbies in citizen band and ham radio. After retirement, my interests changed to working as a volunteer on the trail system to provide a multi-use trail in the Valleythus my interest in ATV's and snowmobiles was rekindled. I am survived by my wonderful wife of 28 plus years, Charlotte Henley-Bennett and five children, Heather Rann (Jason), Truro; Heidi Bennett, Halifax; Vickie Campbell (John), Lakeville; Kelly Coombs (Stephen Bishop), Aylesford Lake and Kevin Coombs, Coldbrook as well as grandchildren Summer, Aiden, Eva, Montana, Seth, David, Riley, Cassidy, Chloe and great grandsons Aiden and Ethan. I am further survived by brothers and sisters, Bernard, Jean, Juanita, Earl, Rita, Linda, Bradford, Brenda, Deborah, Katherine and Darlene being predeceased by my parents and my sister Carol. I am requesting that cremation take place with no visitation or funeral and with disposition at a later date. Charlotte would like to thank Dr. Paul MacLean, Dr. Mark Walsh along with the Palliative Care Team and VON, and to send a special thank you to sister Jean and brother Earl. Donations in memory may be made to Craig's Cause Pancreatic Cancer Society, VON Annapolis Valley Branch or to charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448.
